Prom Hair? Or Disney Princess Hair!

Prom Hair? Or Disney Princess Hair!

Hey everyone I’m back with a prom hair tutorial! My sister Sarah (the beauty in the pictures) is not really going to prom but I’m made her choose some inspiration anyways… she of course chose Belle.

  1. Brush through your hair to make it knot free.
  2. Begin by curling the ends of your hair for a more polished finish.
  3. Then take the front section of hair and braid into a loose braid use a small rubber band to secure.prom hair 1
  4. Leave out the braid and a few curls in the front, but taking the rest of your hair.. put into a low side pony on the side with the braid.prom hair 2
  5. Take the braid and wrap the end around the pony tail holder and secure with a bobby pin.
  6. Now take one curl at a time and wrap into a circle and secure with a hair pin onto of the pony tail. prom hair 3
  7. Repeat set 6 a few times to achieve desired look.
  8. Leave a good portion of the pony tail down.prom hair 4

Prom For The Realist

High schoolers, you are now getting ready for PROM! Yes, it’s that time of year and things can be stressful but don’t you worry I’m going to put things in perspective.

First things first: Having to have a date is a complete myth. You do not need to go with anyone. I went solo to my senior prom and had a blast!

Second: You do NOT need to spend a fortune on your look. There is a ton of really cool ways to look unique and fashionable, that don’t have to leave you broke and stressed!

Lets break down your needs and your to-dos:

Dress– Try second hand shops or clearance racks. It’s super fun to go dress hunting! Plus, who wants to go in a dress that everyone else has.

Tux– Honestly a sports coat and slacks can be just as great as a tux! Your don’t have to follow all the 1950s rules of dances (You so can though!). Just with dresses try alternative means as well as going to a tuxedo rental store.

Shoes– Guess what? There is more to the shoe game then just heels! My sister wore toms to her prom and looked extremely cute and edgy! Oh and a quick note your going to be ditching those shoes as soon as the music comes on anyways!tom1

Jewelry (optional)- Ladies and gents wearing gaudy bling is out. If your dress is the star of the show, wear simple pieces!

Hair– Like I said keep it simple! Don’t over do it on the products. Remember hairspray is to help hold not make your “do” rock hard! Trust me people can tell! sarah 1

Makeup-Simple chic makeup is just as great/ maybe even better than extreme colors and crazy contouring.

Nails– It is just as much fun painting your nails as it is going to the salon to get a full set! I think both can be just as beautiful as the other!prom sister

Going to get your hair and makeup done is a really good thing to do if you can’t do it yourself. But I think having a get ready party and having your friends come over to help is a great way to have fun and just relax!

Remember prom is suppose to be fun! Don’t worry about others and don’t forget that this is a right of passage! This is for you, so have fun and look how you want to look!

These photos are from my little sisters junior prom so ill be posting a hair and makeup post similar to the ones in the pictures, don’t forget to watch out for those! If you have any questions or need advice let me know!

Question of the day-what does/did your prom dress look like?
